Virtues of Surah Mulk
This surah was revealed in Makkah and is of great importance and excellence in terms of its subject matter. This Surah is also called Tabarak Manya Manjiya and Waqiyya.
Hadith No.1
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Masoud, may Allah be pleased with him, that during the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, we used to call this surah Manya preventing divine punishment (al-Tabarani)
Hadith No.2
Hazrat Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, narrates that some of the Companions pitched a tent on a grave without knowing it, and there they heard the voice of a gentleman who was reciting Surah Mulk. He even recited the whole surah, when the companion who pitched the tent came and submitted it to the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said, "It is a prohibition and a savior that saves from the punishment of the grave" (Tirmidhi).
Hadith No.3
On the authority of Hazrat Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, he said to a person, "Should I not give you a present of a hadith that will make you happy?" He said yes, why not? Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) said, "Recite Surah Mulk yourself and teach it to your family, children, and neighbors." Because this Surah is a savior and will fight for its reciter on the Day of Resurrection with its Lord and will demand protection from the Fire of Hell and through it its reciter will be saved from the punishment of the grave. (Tirmidhi).
Hadith No.4
On the authority of Hazrat Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said that there is a surah in the Holy Qur'an which has thirty verses. This surah interceded for a person of my ummah, so Allah Almighty forgave him and that is Surah Mulk.
Hadith No.5
Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa (RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) used to recite Surah Sajda and Surah Mulk every night. (Rooh ul Mani)
Wazaif of Surah Mulk
(1)
If it is recited after seeing the moon, it will be protected from hardships for thirty days of the month, so these 30 verses are enough for 30 days.
(2)
If a person makes it a habit to read this Surah once while sleeping, then God willing, with the blessing of this Surah, he will be protected from the punishment of the grave. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) will intercede for him.
(3)
If this surah is recited for eleven days after the Zuhr prayer and supplication is made before Allah for the forgiveness of a deceased person, then inshallah the supplication will be accepted and the deceased will be relieved by Allah and the punishment of the grave will be averted.
(4)
Whoever recites this surah daily after Fajr prayer, Allah will make him steadfast in his faith and his end will be with faith and the destination of the grave will be easy.
(5)
In order to become Sahib Kashf, if a person makes it a habit to read it 41 times daily, a time will come that by the grace and mercy of Allah, he will become Sahib Kashf, i.e. the veil will be opened on him.
(6)
If a child suffers from bad eyesight, read this Surah once and breathe on water and give it to the child, then inshallah the effects of bad eyesight will disappear.
(7)
If a pregnant woman recites this surah for forty days and breathes it on water and drinks it, her pregnancy will be protected by the mercy of Allah.
(8)
According to a scholar, reciting Surah Mulk within two rak'ahs in the Tahajjud prayer and doing so for forty days will lead to the birth of a male child by God's grace.
